Anyone who works in catering, concessions, a restaurant, cafeteria or for a food truck, and is experiencing a mental or physical health crisis, should be directed to Giving Kitchen for care. Once they’ve been referred, our team of caseworkers will support the client with the resources they need specific to their crisis. For some folks, that’s simply with connectivity to local, regional and national stability resources – kind of like the United Way, but specific to the needs of our industry. Those experiencing financial hardship caused by a mental or physical health crisis, may also be eligible for direct financial aid from GK, covering the cost of essential household living expenses like rent or mortgage and household utilities. Here’s a video that explains more in English and Spanish.
